Details of Experience:

Ralph S. was admitted to the Savoy from North Broward Medical Center following total knee replacement surgery on his left knee. Prior to the surgery, Ralph was living independently in his home and working full time. Ralph chose the Savoy after doing research online and seeing positive reviews of the rehab center. He also saw the Savoy’s location, close to his personal residence, as a positive.

As soon as Ralph came to the Savoy, he was pleasantly surprised to see how many people he came in contact with. In his past experience with another community, he felt more isolated, so quickly after entering The Savoy, he was greeted warmly by the whole team, which was a breath of fresh air for him. One interaction that stood out was when Rose from Recreation gave him exciting news about upcoming events, helping him feel more positive about his future. He was immediately introduced to the PT team and was very appreciative of their positivity and encouragement. His goal was to live independently at home and return to work.

Ralph has been very excited to see his progress. While he does not walk fast, he can walk without a walker and looks forward to his PT sessions daily. He has enjoyed working with the entire nursing staff. He enjoyed the interactions and encouragement he received from everyone and acknowledged how it helped him get closer to achieving goals.

As of 12/12/25, Ralph was discharged home, where he is now able to walk independently. Ralph is continuing to participate in his Physical Therapy at home. Mr. S was a very positive and upbeat resident of The Savoy, and we wish him the best and look forward to keeping in touch and following his continued progress.
